SingularityApp automatically saves backups of your data on your devices so you can restore it if you accidentally delete something important. In addition, you can create backups manually whenever you want.

Daily Automatic Backup

SingularityApp automatically creates daily backups of your data, allowing you to restore important information in case of accidental deletion or loss.

Automatic daily backups are stored locally on your device. The last 10 copies are kept—older versions are deleted to save space. You can enable or disable this feature (it’s recommended to keep it enabled).

Desktop Applications

SingularityApp automatically creates daily backups of your data, allowing you to restore important information in case of accidental deletion or loss.

Web Version

Data is backed up automatically every day—copies are stored locally in the browser or in cloud storage.

Web version specifics: If the user is not signed in or not synchronized with the server (for example, working offline, without an account, or on the free plan without sync, or if a sync error occurs), automatic downloads of daily backups are performed to the device. This ensures that data is saved in a local file regardless of the server’s status. Automatic backup downloads occur once a day and cannot be disabled by the user.

Manual Backup Creation and Download

You can manually create or download a backup at any time to have full control over saving and restoring your data.

How to Create a Manual Backup

Open Settings.
Go to Backup.
Tap „Create Backup“.

macOS:

In the top application menu, select „Help“.
Click „Download Backup“.

Windows, Linux, and Web Version:

Click the three dots in the upper-left corner next to the app icon.
Select „Help“.
Click „Download Backup“.

How to Restore a Manual Backup

You can upload a previously created backup file to restore your tasks and projects.

Open SingularityApp.
Go to Settings → Backup.
Tap „Upload Backup“.
Select the desired backup file from your device (the 10 most recent backups are stored).
Confirm the restoration and wait until it’s complete.

Where backups are stored:

Android: File Manager → Android → Data → com.sibirix.singularityapp → files.
iOS: Files → On My iPhone → SingularityApp.

Desktop Version (Windows, macOS, Linux)

Close the application.
Find the desired backup file on your device in the folder:
- Windows: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SingularityApp\nedb-backup\
- macOS: ~/Library/Containers/ru.sibirix.singularitydesktop/Data/Library/Application Support/SingularityApp/nedb-backup/
- Linux: ~/.config/SingularityApp/nedb-backup/
Rename the selected backup file to backup.json.
Move the file to the app’s root data folder:
- Windows: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SingularityApp\
- macOS: ~/Library/Containers/ru.sibirix.singularitydesktop/Data/Library/Application Support/SingularityApp/
Restart the application — your data will be restored from the backup.

Web Version

The web version doesn’t support restoring directly, but backups downloaded from the web can be restored in any desktop version of the app.
Data is restored through cloud synchronization.
If you experience sync issues, please contact support.

Open and Encrypted Backups

Open backups contain complete readable data of tasks and projects and can be freely used for restoration.
Encrypted backups are special files with obfuscated data (all characters replaced with question marks). These are used only by the support team for diagnostics and troubleshooting while preserving data confidentiality.
