Notifications

Notifications — your reliable helper that will remind you on time about a task start or an upcoming deadline. For notifications to work, the task must have a start time and/or a deadline set.

How to Set Up a Notification

Notification settings for a task depend on your plan.

On the Basic plan, you can set only one reminder from the standard intervals: at the time, or 5, 15, or 30 minutes before the event. Custom intervals and multiple reminders are not available.

On the PRO plan, you can set up to 5 reminders per task, combining both standard and custom intervals:

  1. Open the task for editing.
  2. Set the «Date» and «Time» for the task.
  3. Tap the bell icon.
  4. In the opened window, choose one or more standard intervals (for example, «5 min before», «1 hour before») or set your own custom interval.
  5. To disable a reminder, simply tap the cross icon next to it in the settings window.

Alarm Notification

To make a reminder on your phone work like a persistent alarm rather than a regular notification, check the «Alarm» box in the notification settings. You can configure this option on any device, but it will only trigger in the mobile version of the app.

Automatic Notification Creation

You can configure the app to automatically add a standard notification («At time») whenever you set a time for a task.

Go to Settings → General and enable the «Automatically notify about task start» option.

Go to Settings → Notifications and enable «Create notification automatically.»

After successful setup, events from your local iOS calendar will start appearing in SingularityApp.

Synchronize with System Notifications

For Mac: app notifications (top panel) are automatically synced with system notifications (sidebar on the desktop).

Disable Notification

You can disable a notification in the same place where you set it — in the date and time settings window or in the task editing panel. You can also use the Notification icon as a reference.

In the date and time settings window, click the cross icon next to the configured notification.

The cross icon appears when you hover over the row with the configured notification.

In the mobile app, the cross icon is located on the right side of the row with the configured notification.

What to Do If Notifications Don’t Appear

If you’ve set up a notification but it didn’t go off, go through this checklist.

Step 1: Check the settings in the app

  • Notifications tab: On the bottom bar of the app menu, there’s a bell icon. Make sure it doesn’t have a crossed-out bell symbol. If it does, notifications in the app are disabled.
  • App settings: Go to Menu → Settings → Notifications and make sure the «Receive notifications» toggle is enabled.

Step 2: Check your device permissions

The app needs permission from your phone’s operating system to send notifications. The easiest way to check this is to open SingularityApp and go to Settings → Notifications → Notification permissions. You’ll be redirected to your device’s system notification settings. Make sure notifications and sounds are allowed for SingularityApp.

Also, check the following system settings (especially relevant for Android):

  • Background activity must be allowed.
  • Autostart for the app must be enabled.
  • Battery optimization for SingularityApp must be disabled.
  • Power saving mode on the phone must be turned off.

How to find these settings on Android (by manufacturer):

  • Xiaomi: Device settings → Apps → All apps → SingularityApp. Enable «Autostart» and set «Activity control» to «No restrictions.» Then go to «Battery and performance» and disable «Power saving.»
  • Samsung: Device settings → Apps → SingularityApp → Battery. Enable «Allow background activity» and disable «Battery optimization.»
  • Realme: In device settings, go to the Apps section, find SingularityApp, disable «Pause app activity if unused,» and enable «Allow background activity» and «Autostart.» Then go to the Battery section, turn off Power saving mode, and make sure there are no restrictions under «Other settings.»

Notifications on MacOS

On macOS, notifications from SingularityApp may also appear in the system Notification Center (the right-side panel). Make sure you’ve granted the app the necessary permissions in your macOS system settings. Clicking such a notification will open the related task in the app.
