The application continues to run in the background after minimizing or even closing its window. The application widget is available in the system tray.

Left-clicking on the widget opens a new task creation window.

Right-clicking on the widget opens the Actions menu with two options: Show the application window or Close the application. Selecting Close stops the app from running in the background.

If you want a left-click to open the application window instead of the task creation window, tick the checkbox Open the app by clicking in tray in the Application Settings window on the General tab.
