When a project accumulates many tasks, you can sort them to quickly find what you need and keep the list organized.
By default, projects use manual sorting — you can drag and drop tasks to arrange them in any order you like. However, if there are many tasks, it’s faster to use one of the automatic sorting options.
How to Sort Tasks
To change the order of tasks in a project, open the sorting menu.
Click the sorting icon in the upper-right corner above the task list — a menu with available sorting options will appear.
Open the desired project.
Tap the three-dot icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
In the menu that appears, select "Sort" — a list of available sorting options will open.
Sorting Options
In SingularityApp, several types of task sorting are available. Choose the one that best fits your goal.
Smart Sorting
This hybrid method takes multiple parameters into account — dates, priorities, and deadlines. Tasks are arranged in the following order:
High-priority tasks without a date are sorted by deadline.
Tasks planned for today are sorted first by priority, then by time.
High-priority tasks with a date are shown in chronological order; tasks on the same day are sorted by deadline.
Medium-priority tasks with dates are displayed chronologically; tasks on the same day are sorted by deadline.
Low-priority tasks with dates are sorted by date, with deadlines used to order tasks on the same day.
Tasks without priority or date are sorted by deadline.
Low-priority tasks without a date are ranked by deadline.
«Someday» tasks are sorted by priority, and within the same priority — by deadline.
By Time
Tasks are sorted by their scheduled date or the absence of one.
By time: tasks without a date come first, then today’s tasks, followed by the rest in chronological order.
Reverse time: tasks without a date come first, followed by those with the latest dates, and finally the earliest ones.
By Priority
Tasks are grouped by their priority flags.
By priority: high-priority tasks on top, then medium, and low at the bottom.
Reverse priority: low-priority tasks on top, then medium, and high at the bottom.
By Deadline
Tasks with deadlines appear first, sorted by deadline date. Tasks without deadlines are listed below and sorted by date and time. Priorities are not considered.
By deadline: tasks with the nearest deadlines come first, followed by those without deadlines in ascending date order.
Reverse deadline: tasks with the latest deadlines come first, followed by those without deadlines in ascending date order.
Alphabetically
Tasks are sorted by their titles.
Alphabetically: from A to Z.
Reverse alphabetically: from Z to A.
Custom
Tasks appear in the order set manually by the user. The direction does not change.
How to Filter Tasks and Notes in a Project
If you want to focus on specific tasks within a project, use the filter:
Open the project you need.
Tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner of the screen.
Select Filter from the menu — the Task filter screen will open.
Choose your filter parameters:
Tags — any of your tags;
Date: any date, no date, today, tomorrow, this week, next week, next month, past, someday, or set a custom range (days before / days after);
You can select multiple values for tags, status, and priority. For date — only one option at a time. To quickly reset all parameters, tap the reset icon in the top right corner of the Task filter screen.
Important! In a shared project, an additional parameter becomes available — Responsible: no assignee, any assignee, or specific project members. You can select one or multiple values.
Tap Apply — only tasks and notes matching your selected parameters will remain visible in the project.
Once applied, a filter icon with the number of active parameters will appear in the top right corner — tap it to adjust your settings.
Important! The filter does not persist when you switch to another project. When you return, all tasks and notes will be shown without any filtering.
