Gantt Chart βElite

The Gantt Chart is a task view available in the desktop version of the app. It helps you visually plan projects on a timeline, track dependencies between tasks, and monitor overall progress. When all project stages are visible on a single chart, managing the project becomes much easier.

How to Switch to the "Gantt Chart" View

You can switch to the Gantt chart view in two ways:

Method 1. Inside a project, click on the menu (three dots) next to the project's name and select "Gantt".

Method 2. In the sidebar or directly on the project's name, right-click — a context menu will open, select "Gantt".

The diagram is divided into two parts: the table (task list) and the chart (timeline). You can resize them by dragging the divider.

Important! The Gantt chart is available for users on the Elite tariff plan.

How to Work with the Gantt Chart

You can interact with tasks in both the table and on the chart.

In the table area:

  • Completing Tasks: Check tasks to mark them as completed.
  • Hierarchy: Collapse or expand parent items (sections or tasks with subtasks) to hide or show nested tasks.
  • Editing Dates: Click on a field to change a task's start date, end date, or duration. The title and progress cannot be changed here. To edit the title or progress, use a double-click on the task row.

On the chart:

  • Display: Tasks are displayed as colored rectangles. Hovering the cursor over a task shows a tooltip with its information (title, dates, progress).
  • Changing Deadlines: Simply drag-and-drop a task to other dates to change its timeline.
  • Changing Duration: Pull the left or right edge of a task's rectangle to increase or decrease its duration. Duration changes in increments of one full day.
  • Tracking Progress: Change a task's completion progress using the triangular slider below it. The completed part will be filled with a darker color. If progress reaches 100%, the task will automatically become completed.
  • Milestones: If you set a task's duration to 0, it will be displayed on the chart as a diamond (milestone), marking a key date.
  • Editing a Task: To open the full editing window, double-click on the task's row.

How to Work with Task Dependencies

The linking function allows you to create dependencies between tasks, so that when one task changes, the tasks linked to it automatically shift.

Hover the cursor over a task on the chart. Dots will appear at the beginning and end of the task's rectangle.

To create a link, drag a line from the dot at the end of one task to the dot at the beginning of another task. One task can have links with several tasks simultaneously.

To delete a link, right-click on the linked task and select the corresponding option.

When a task's duration, start date, or end date changes, all tasks that depend on it automatically shift by the corresponding number of days.

How to Work with Parent Items

If a task or section contains other tasks, it becomes a parent item.

On the chart, a parent item displays a special summary bar. It shows the total duration of all nested tasks (from the earliest start date to the latest end date).

The same bar also displays the overall progress of all child tasks.

The summary bar itself cannot be moved or have its duration manually adjusted — it updates automatically.

How to Work with Milestones

A milestone is a special type of task that marks a key date or an important moment in a project.

To create a milestone, set the task's duration to 0 days. On the chart, such a task will be displayed as a diamond shape instead of the usual rectangle.

If you delete the duration of an existing task, the system will automatically assign it a duration of 1 day. To create a milestone, you must specifically set the duration = 0.

If a task is newly created and has no start date, end date, or duration, it is assigned a default duration of 1 day and is anchored to the left side of the chart.

Limitations

The Gantt Chart is currently in beta mode, and some features are limited. Updates and new functionality may be added in future releases.

By plan:

  • The Gantt Chart is available on Trial and Elite plans.
  • It’s not available on Pro or free accounts.

By functionality:

  • You can’t create or delete tasks here. To do this, switch to List or Kanban view.
  • You can’t reorder tasks, but you can change the sorting in the project — tasks on the chart will rearrange accordingly.
  • You can’t change the chart scale. The timeline displays days grouped by weeks.
