Gantt Chart βElite

The Gantt Chart is a task view available in the desktop version of the app. It helps you visually plan projects on a timeline, track dependencies between tasks, and monitor overall progress. When all project stages are visible on a single chart, managing the project becomes much easier.

How to Switch to the "Gantt Chart" View

To open the Gantt Chart, click the view switch icon in the top right corner of the app. The Gantt Chart is available to users on the Elite plan.

The chart is divided into two parts: the table (task list) and the timeline (schedule). You can resize them by dragging the divider.

How to Work with the Gantt Chart

You can interact with tasks both in the table and on the chart.

In the table:

  • Completing tasks: Check off tasks to mark them as done.
  • Hierarchy: Collapse or expand parent items (sections or tasks with subtasks) to hide or show nested tasks.
  • Editing dates: Click a field to change the start date, end date, or task duration. The name and progress cannot be edited here.

On the chart:

  • Changing dates: Simply drag and drop a task to different dates to adjust its duration.
  • Adjusting duration: Drag the left or right edge of the task bar to increase or decrease its duration. Duration is measured in whole days.
  • Tracking progress: Adjust task progress using the triangular slider beneath it. The completed portion will be shown in a darker color. Once progress reaches 100%, the task is automatically marked as complete.
  • Milestones: If a task’s duration is set to 0, it will appear on the chart as a diamond (milestone), marking a key date.
  • Editing tasks: Double-click a task row to open the full task editing window.

How to Work with Task Dependencies

The dependency feature allows you to create links between tasks so that when one task changes, its dependent tasks automatically shift accordingly.

Hover over a task on the chart. Dots will appear at the beginning and end of the task bar.

To create a dependency, drag a line from the dot at the end of one task to the dot at the beginning of another.

To delete a dependency, right-click the linked task and select the corresponding option.

How to Work with Parent Items

If a task or section contains other tasks, it becomes a parent item.

On the chart, a parent item displays a special summary bar. It shows the total duration of all nested tasks (from the earliest start date to the latest end date).

The same bar also displays the overall progress of all child tasks.

The summary bar itself cannot be moved or have its duration manually adjusted — it updates automatically.

Limitations

The Gantt Chart is currently in beta mode, and some features are limited. Updates and new functionality may be added in future releases.

By plan:

  • The Gantt Chart is available on Trial and Elite plans.
  • It’s not available on Pro or free accounts.

By functionality:

  • You can’t create or delete tasks here. To do this, switch to List or Kanban view.
  • You can’t reorder tasks, but you can change the sorting in the project — tasks on the chart will rearrange accordingly.
  • You can’t change the chart scale. The timeline displays days grouped by weeks.
