Unplaced

The «No Project» folder is a system folder that helps you keep your tasks organized. All tasks that have a due date but aren’t assigned to any project are automatically placed here.

Where to find the «No Project» folder

The folder is located at the bottom of the sidebar, below your list of projects.

The folder is located in the app menu, below your list of projects.

How to add a task to the «No Project» folder

  1. From the “Inbox” folder

Just add a date to any task in the “Inbox”. Once you save the changes, the task will automatically move to the “No Project” folder.

  2. Create a task directly in the folder

You can create a task right inside the “No Project” folder. Such a task will automatically be assigned the “Someday” date by default. You can change it to any specific date right away.

If you remove the date while creating a task in this folder, the “Someday” date will still be assigned automatically when you save it.

If you completely remove the date from a task in the “No Project” folder, it will move back to the “Inbox”.

How to move a task to the desired project

If you decide that a task should be part of a specific project, you can easily move it there at any time.

  • Method 1: Drag and drop

Click and hold the task with the left mouse button, then simply drag it to the desired project in the sidebar. The task’s date will remain unchanged.

  • Method 2: Through the task menu
    1. Open the task for editing.
    2. Click the “Change project” icon or use the shortcut ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + M.
    3. In the window that appears, select the desired project.
  • Method 1: From the task edit screen:
    1. Open the task you want to move.
    2. Tap the project field (by default, it will say “No Project”).
    3. From the list that appears, select the project where you want to place the task.
  • Method 2: Using the move icon:
    1. Press and hold the task in the list to select it.
    2. In the toolbar that appears at the bottom, tap the move icon.
    3. From the list that appears, choose the project you need.

What about subtasks?

Working with subtasks has its own specifics across all devices:

  • If you move a parent task to the “No Project” folder, all its subtasks will move along with it. If the subtasks didn’t have their own dates, they will automatically be assigned the “Someday” date. If they already had dates, those will be preserved.

Important! If you add a date to only a subtask in the “Inbox” folder, it will become detached from its parent task and move independently to the “No Project” folder. In this case, the connection to the parent task will be lost.
