Search

In SingularityApp, you can quickly find any task, note, project, section, or tag.

Launching Search

The search bar is located in the top panel of the app. When collapsed, it shows the placeholder “Search”. Click on it — the bar will expand to the full width of the header. You can also open search from the keyboard using Ctrl + F (Windows/Linux) or ⌘ Cmd + F (macOS) — the bar will expand and the cursor will automatically be placed in the search field.

Start typing your query — a quick search window with results will open below the bar.

To search across the entire database, click the “Search everywhere” button or press Enter. The search page will open.

To collapse the search bar, press Esc or click the × next to the bar.

Global Search

Global search scans the entire app database — it looks for matches in task names, projects, sections, tags, as well as in note contents and checklist items.

The search page opens via the “Search everywhere” button or by pressing Enter from the search bar.

Results are divided into three tabs: “Tasks & Notes”, “Projects & Sections”, “Tags”. The number of found items is shown next to each tab name — if there are any.

If nothing is found, a prompt will appear: “Nothing found. Please refine your query”.

Tap the search icon (magnifying glass) on the bottom menu.
Or use the search bar located in the menu above the list of projects and folders.
Start typing — results will be searched across all tasks, projects, sections, tags, notes, and checklists.

You can quickly jump from here to editing a task or viewing it within its project.

Search Within the Current Page

The search is limited to the current page (project or folder).

To activate it, press the shortcut keys ⌘ Cmd + F.

This search checks task titles, notes, and checklist items only within the open page. It’s useful for quickly filtering a large list of tasks in the current project.

The search is limited to the current menu — a project or a folder.

Use the field at the top of the task list to search. As you type, results will be found in task titles, notes, and checklists on the current page.

You can also switch from this page search to the global search for a broader search across the entire app.

Actions With Found Tasks

After performing a search, you can quickly manage the found tasks:

Edit:

Double-click a task to open the editing panel, where you can change the title, priority, notes, tags, checklists, dates, and deadlines.
You can drag and drop a task from the search results into the desired project on the sidebar.
To view a task in its project, open the context menu of the found task and select «Show in Project.»
