Sometimes a task becomes irrelevant but might be useful later. In this case, it’s better to cancel it rather than delete it.

Method 1. Select the task and press Cmd ⌘ + - (on macOS) or Ctrl + - (on Windows).

Method 2. Open the task’s context menu → choose Complete TaskMark as Canceled.

Important: In a canceled task, the checkbox will show a cross, and the title will be completely crossed out. Such a task remains in the project until you archive or delete it.

Complete a Task for Today

A task with the date "today" or earlier can be temporarily completed — it will be marked as done but become active again tomorrow.

Method 1. Select the task and press ⌘ Cmd + . (on macOS) or Ctrl + . (on Windows).

Method 2. Open the task’s context menu → choose Complete TaskComplete for Today.

How the task behaves during archiving depends on your settings.

Manually

  • When you archive a task → its date changes to the next day, and it becomes active again.
  • If you completed a task but didn’t archive it, the next day it keeps its original date and appears overdue. If you archive it on that new day, it will get the current date.

Immediately

  • The task date is automatically set to the next day.

Daily

  • If archived manually → the task date changes to the next day.
  • If not archived manually, the next day its date automatically updates to the current one, and the task returns to active status.
