Export a Project Template

This feature in the desktop version of the app lets you save any of your projects as a template, so you can reuse it again and again. It’s perfect for recurring processes—like planning a strategy session, preparing for a new school year, or creating a packing checklist for a trip.

You just create a project once, export it as a template, and then import it whenever you need it.

How to Create and Export a Template

  1. Open the project you want to turn into a template.
  2. Click the project menu (three-dot icon) or right-click the project name and select „Export Template to CSV“.
  3. In the window that appears, enter a name for your template and choose a folder to save it in.
  4. Click „Save“.

What’s Saved in the Template?

The template file saves the entire project structure: the task hierarchy, titles, notes, priorities, statuses, and checklists. Pay special attention to how dates are stored: dates are saved in a relative format.

  • Tasks with non-overdue dates keep their relative position. For example, a task with the date „Tomorrow“ will still have the date „Tomorrow“ relative to the day of import.
  • Tasks with overdue dates are saved in the template without dates. This prevents outdated deadlines from being carried over into the new project.

How to import and use a template

  1. In the top system menu of SingularityApp, select FileImportImport from CSV.
  2. In the window that opens, find and select your previously saved CSV template file.
  3. Done! SingularityApp will add the project from the template to the end of your project list, and all dates inside it will be set relative to the current day.
