Nested projects are projects placed inside other projects. This feature helps organize your tasks and create a convenient hierarchy.

For example, to break down a large goal like “Apartment renovation”, you can create subprojects such as “Kitchen”, “Bathroom”, and “Materials purchase”.

How to Create a Nested Project

You can make one project a part of another simply by dragging and dropping.

Click and hold the project you want to make nested.
Without releasing the mouse button, drag it onto the project that should become the parent and release.
In the left panel, you can also use Ctrl (or ⌘ Cmd on Mac) + → to nest the project, and Ctrl (⌘ Cmd) + ← to move it back to the top level.

Method 1:

Press and hold the project you want to make nested until it highlights.
Without lifting your finger, drag it onto the project that should become the parent and release.

Method 2: Open the list of projects. Press and hold the project name. Tap the menu icon that appears next to the name and select “Edit”. In the editing window, choose “Parent project”.

To make a subproject a top-level project again, simply drag it out of the parent project to the left — to the upper level in the list.

How to View What’s Inside a Parent Project

A small arrow appears next to the parent project’s name in the project list. Click it to expand or collapse the list of nested projects.

Nested projects are displayed with a small indentation to the right, visually showing the entire hierarchy.

Delete a Nested Project

A nested project is deleted the same way as any other project.

However, keep in mind a few important rules:

If you delete a parent project, it will be deleted along with all its subprojects.
If you delete a subproject, the parent project will remain intact.
If you restore a parent project, it will be restored together with all its subprojects.
If you restore a subproject, its connection to the parent project will remain, and it will return to its previous place.

Important: If you restore the subproject first and then the parent project, the link between them will be broken, and they will be restored as two separate projects.
