New Projects

Projects in SingularityApp are like folders for your tasks. They help you group tasks united by a common goal and bring order to chaos. Use projects to separate work from personal tasks, plan a vacation, organize a renovation, or prepare for an important event. When all related tasks are in one place, managing them becomes much easier.

How to Create a Project

You can create a project in one of the following ways:

  • Method 1: Through the sidebar. In the “My Projects” section, click the “+” icon.
  • Method 2: Using keyboard shortcuts. Press Shift + Alt + N.
  • Method 3: Through the context menu. Right-click the “My Projects” heading and select “New Project”.

Any of these methods will add a new project to the list. You’ll just need to enter a name for it. The project is created instantly and saved automatically.

You can also add a detailed project description to keep its goals or important notes handy. To do this, open the project, click the “Project note” field under its name, and start typing. You can use the note editor features to make text bold, add lists, headings, and even insert images [ELITE].

  1. Open the sidebar (by swiping from the left edge of the screen or tapping the ☰ menu icon).
  2. Find the “My Projects” section and tap the “+” icon.
  3. On the new screen, enter a name, choose a color and an icon. Here you can also add a detailed description in the “Note” field using the note editor: make text bold, add lists, headings, and even insert images [ELITE]. If needed, select a parent project to make the new one nested.
  4. Tap the checkmark in the top-left corner to save the project.

How to Set Up or Edit a Project

You can always modify the settings of an existing project.

  • To edit the project name, open the desired project and double-click its current name. A text field will appear for entering a new one.
  • To change the color or select an emoji, open the desired project and click its icon. A menu will appear where you can choose a color from the palette or find a suitable emoji using the search bar. Emoji search works in English.

To edit a project, use one of the three methods:

  • Method 1: Open the sidebar, long-press on the project, tap the “three dots” (...) in the menu that appears, and select “Edit Project”.
  • Method 2: Open the project by tapping it. Then tap the “three dots” (...) in the top-right corner and select “Edit Project”.
  • Method 3: Open the project by tapping it. Then, in the top-left corner, tap the project name. A bottom panel with the “Pomodoro” project statistics will appear — tap the “Edit Project” icon on that panel.

Any of these methods will open the project editing screen, where you can:

  • Change the name.
  • Select a color and icon (emoji).
  • Turn the project into a notebook (create notes by default instead of tasks).
  • Move the project under another parent project.
  • Add the project to Favorites.
  • Archive the project.
  • View Pomodoro timer statistics.

Convert a Section to a Pproject

This feature lets you quickly convert a section into a standalone project while keeping all its nested tasks.

  1. Open the project that contains the desired section.
  2. Hover over the section name and click the “three dots” (...) icon that appears.
  3. From the dropdown menu, select “Convert to project”.

Working with Multiple Projects in Separate Windows

This is useful when you need to compare task lists or move tasks between projects.

  1. In the sidebar, right-click the project name.
  2. In the context menu, select “Open in a new window”.
  3. The project will open in a separate application window. You can open multiple projects this way at the same time.
