Desktop Widgets

To make sure you don’t lose any important thoughts, even when you’re busy with something else, the desktop version of SingularityApp includes a quick task creation widget. It lets you instantly add a new task using a hotkey or from the system tray—without opening the main app window or getting distracted from your current work.

Set Up the Widget

  1. Open App Settings:

    Method 1: Press ⌘ Cmd + ,

Method 2: From the system menu, select: SingularityApp → Settings.

  2. By default, the widget is enabled. To change its settings, check the box Activate Quick Task Creation Hotkey.

You can also change the hotkey for launching the widget by clicking the field with the current shortcut in App Settings and selecting a new one.

If you want to disable the widget completely, simply uncheck this box.

Quick task creating

  1. Press Ctrl + Space — the quick task creation widget will open. Or use the hotkey you specified for the widget in Settings.

  2. Enter the task name and press ENTER.

To quickly add tasks in the mobile app, use the Android, iOS, or voice input widgets.

Widget in Tray

When the app is minimized, it continues running in the background, and its icon appears in the system tray.

Left-clicking the tray icon opens a quick task creation widget.

Right-clicking the tray icon opens an action menu: choose „Show App Window“ or „Exit App“. If you select Exit, the app will stop running in the background.

If you’d like a left-click on the tray icon to open the main app window instead of the quick task widget, check the box Open App When Clicking Tray Icon under App SettingsGeneral.
