Task creation

Creating a task is the first and most important step in planning. In SingularityApp, we’ve made this process as fast and convenient as possible, so you can capture any idea in just a few seconds.

Create a Task

There are several ways to create a task in the app:

  1. Use the keyboard shortcut ⌘ Cmd/Ctrl + N or press Space.
  2. Click the button in the bottom toolbar.

In the edit panel that appears, enter the task name and press Enter. If you don’t enter a name, the task will be saved as «New Task.»

To create a task on a mobile device, tap the button in the bottom toolbar.

Selecting a Project

The project or folder where a new task will be placed is selected at the moment of creation. The project or folder icon immediately appears in the task edit field.

  1. If a task is created inside a project folder, it will remain in that project.
  2. If a task is created in the «Today» folder, it will be moved to the «No Project» folder.
  3. If a task is created in the «Inbox» folder, it will stay there until you assign it to a project and a date.

To select a project for a task, click the project (or folder) icon in the task edit field and choose the desired project from the list.

Add an emoji to the task name

You can insert an emoji into a task name in two ways:

  1. Press ⌘ Cmd/Ctrl + ^ + Space.
  2. From the system menu, select: EditEmoji & Symbols.

In the window that appears, choose an emoji or symbol.

To insert an emoji into a task name on a mobile device, open the emoji panel and select the one you want.
